Who will start in Turin?

Traditionally, the season finale is where the best eight players of a tennis season start the race. This year these are Novak Djokovic , Daniil Medvedev , Alexander Zverev , Stefanos Tsitsipas , Andrey Rublev , Matteo Berrettini ,Casper Ruud and Hubert Hurkacz . The last two players named are taking part in the season-end tournament for the first time.

In addition, the eight best doubles pairs of the 2021 season will play in Turin, above all the outstanding duo Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic. From a German-speaking perspective, Kevin Krawietz also made it to Turin with Horia Tecau.

Who is the defending champion?

At the last ATP Finals in London in November 2020, Daniil Medvedev won the title in the final against Dominic Thiem. In 2019 Stefanos Tsitsipas won, the year before Alexander Zverev. In doubles, Nikola Mektic and Wesley Koolhof took their last win so far in 2020.

What is the mode like?

First, the game is played in two groups of four, the two best in the group advance to the semi-finals, where the first competes against the second in the other group for a place in the final.
