Oscar Otte is in the semifinals of an ATP tournament for the second time in his career. In Stuttgart, however, he benefited from the cancellation of his quarter-final opponent Benjamin Bonzi due to illness.

Otte had completed his first two appearances at the Boss Open at Stuttgart's Weissenhof with flying colors, taking Denis Shapovalov out of the tournament in the round of 16 .

Thanks to the semi-finals, Otte could also move into the top 50 in the world for the first time next week - in the live ranking he is currently in exactly 50th place. Otte is one of the biggest climbers in recent months - but wants even more, like him in Stuttgart explained .

Otte had reached the semi-finals of an ATP event for the first time in spring at the ATP tournament in Munich.

In the semifinals in Stuttgart, Otte is now waiting for the winner of the match between Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Sonego.
