Boris Becker back on the red carpet
As part of the Berlinale, Boris Becker presented a documentary that was filmed shortly before he went to the British prison. When Boris appears in the German capital for this film, it quickly becomes clear: Boris is almost his old self again – in both a positive and negative sense.

It was his first public appearance after his release from prison and deportation from England. After being released from prison in England and returning to Germany, Boris Becker gave a TV interview and was also present at the Davis Cup match of the German team in Trier against Switzerland – but he has not yet returned to the general spotlight -Thunderstorm posed. Until now.
At the international film festival in Berlin - "Berlinale" for short - the youngest Wimbledon winner of all time officially faced the photographers again for the first time on a red carpet. The occasion was a documentary by director Alex Gibney, which both presented together and which will only be shown on the Apple+ streaming service. The series is expected to start at the end of April. In it, old companions such as John McEnroe or Ivan Lendl, who speak very positively about their former rivals, have their say. In Berlin, Boris seemed recovered and apparently he has coped well with the time in prison. "It feels good to be free again," said Becker at the press conference. "Did I make mistakes? Naturally. But name me someone who didn't make mistakes. The difference: my mistakes are immediately reported around the world.”
The former number 1 in the world clearly enjoyed the favor of the fans and gave extensive autographs in front of the cinema. In any case, the reintegration into society seems to be very far advanced, but the remorse does not seem to be disproportionately present in him. It seems more like it used to be on the tennis court - his life like a best-of-five match: he lost the fourth set more than clearly, a clear 0:6. But now he starts the fifth set and of course he opens it himself: serve Becker!
