Alexander Zverev cannot play a match without a comeback: At the beginning of the French Open 2020, Zverev was behind Dennis Novak with a break in the first set, against Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the second match with a set and break. And the US Open finalist also had to complain about a deficit in the second set against Marco Cecchinato. Cecchinato, however, couldn't finish serving - and so Zverev picked up the book again and from then on couldn't be stopped.

Cecchinato tried a lot of spin and a lot of variation, Zverev held against it with a strong defensive and, above all, backhand winning strokes. Which also impressed his brother Mischa, who accompanied the game as an expert at Eurosport together with Boris Becker . Towards the end of the game, Zverev was a little unfocused, after a little more than 100 minutes he made it clear to move into the fourth round.

In the next round, Jannik Sinner is the next Italian. Sinner defeated David Goffin in round one, then gave no set against Benjamin Bonzi or Federico Coria. In the event of a victory, the twelve-time champion Rafael Nadal would probably wait for Zverev in the quarter-finals. The Spaniard also plays against a youngster in the round of 16: Sebastian Korda, the son of the former Australian Open winner Petr Korda.
