The ATP tournament at Rothenbaum in Hamburg will be hosted by a new organizer from 2024. The international agency Tennium, headquartered in Barcelona, has secured the rights to the traditional men's tournament in the Hanseatic city for at least five years. This was announced by the German Tennis Association (DTB) on Thursday.
"Our task as an association is to find the best possible and future-oriented solution for the tournament at Rothenbaum," said DTB President Dietloff von Arnim: "We are convinced that we will lead the event into a successful future with our new partner. " Tennium combines "extensive experience in tennis, economic expertise and a global network".
Offers from several interested parties
Since 2019, Peter-Michael and Sandra Reichel's Match Maker Sports GmbH has been responsible for the clay court tournament and will host it again next July. According to the DTB, the decision followed a months-long selection process in which offers from several interested parties were examined.
The ATP recently extended the license for the 500 tournament at Rothenbaum in Hamburg for 15 years until at least 2037.
