In the decisive match to play a place in the field of men

While the games of the second day were still running, took place on Monday afternoon in the town hall of Biberach the draw for the main fields starting on Tuesday instead. The official procedure was led by Chief Judge Norbert Peick and Tournament Director Stefan Hofherr, who also holds the office of WTB President. The Lose drew the patron of the championships, Lord Mayor Norbert Zeidler, together with Benedict Kurz (TC Hirschlanden) and as a special guest the Biberach Christ child "Saskia".

"We currently have two major events with the Christkindlesmarkt and the German Championships, which are mutually beneficial. The players like to come to the marketplace and the Biberacher audience appreciates the tournament. Therefore, it is also fitting that one of our Christ children is present at the draw, "said the good-humored Lord Mayor, who is pleased that the championships are now going on for the eleventh time here. "The fact that we draw in the city signifies the good and long-standing connection to the city of Biberach," says Hofherr.

After the seeded players still have a free game in the first round due to the bye, all the others were drawn to the games of the first round. For Benedict Kurz the lot resulted in the duel with Fynn Künkler (TC SuS Bielefeld) - a match with a special character. Eight days ago, the two 18-year-olds faced each other in the final of the German Youth Hall Championships. With a better end for the Bielefelder.

"The chance for the revenge," said Kurz, who, like his opponent, had received a wild card for the peloton. The duel between German U18 champion Alexandra Vecic (TC Tübingen) and Lena Lutzeier (TC Ludwigshafen-Oppau), who lives in Blaustein near Ulm, will also be exciting. Lutzeier was the number one US college leader last year. "That we certainly very interesting. But all other games will certainly be exciting, the tennis fans can definitely look forward to great sports, "said the tournament director.

At a tip, who in the end snatches the title, neither the Lord Mayor nor the WTB President could commit. In the ladies' favorite role, however, they both see the top riders Katharina Hobgarski (TC Bredeney Essen) and Antonia Lottner (TC Bad Vilbel) and Julian Lenz (TC Bad Homburg) and Daniel Masur (Tennis Park Versmold).
