The best German tennis player of all time. A ubiquitous tabloid figure with a flashlight magnet. A deported prisoner from England. Who is Boris Becker now? Somehow every description fits the former number 1 in the tennis world. But these descriptions alone are not enough. Boris Becker is more. He has shown so many different facets of his life over the years - whether voluntarily or not - that everyone has their own personal image of the now 55-year-old and has formed his or her opinion of the public person.

If you focus on Boris Becker from the last few years, there is not much more left than the tabloid figure. Especially with the negative climax of his imprisonment in England. However, the younger generation in particular forgets that Boris Becker is much more. Exceptional athlete, pop culture phenomenon and projection surface for an entire nation.

The podcast "Unser Boris" tries to draw the whole picture of Boris Becker without malice, ridicule and prejudice. How could a (supposedly) less talented Leimener become the youngest Wimbledon winner of all time? The property of an entire nation? What fascinates us so much about this person?

Other guests: Günter Bresnik, Gebhard Gritsch and Patrik Kühnen

In six episodes, author Daniel Müksch spoke to childhood friends, early supporters and people from Becker's inner circle. For example, for the first time Ulrich Kühnel spoke in detail about his years at Boris Becker's side. Kühnel, who describes himself as a "street boy from Gelsenkirchen", was at Becker's side as a personal stringer for over ten years. Every day. At every tournament. Hardly anyone knows Boris like the "street boy from Gelsenkirchen".

Becker's former successful trainer Günther Bosch also has his say in great detail in the podcast, which was created in cooperation with Podstars by OMR. Bosch reports how he formed Boris into a new kind of tennis player and how, on the other hand, more and more fantasies of omnipotence have taken root in his protégé.

Other discussion partners include Günter Bresnik, Patrik Kühnen, Gebhard Gritsch and Udo Riglewski.
