"I like playing in Paris. It's also relatively quick, that's cool," Struff told SID before leaving the Spanish capital.
The conditions at the Grand Slam tournament from May 28th suit Warsteiner, but he does not want to exceed his expectations. "Now I'll be set all of a sudden, that went super fast now. I'm more like taking a little rest, training again and then we'll see," said Struff: "I don't have a goal now that I formulate publicly would like."
Struff plan: No Rome, but probably Bordeaux
The 33-year-old continues after a short break with his family in preparation for Roland Garros in a challenger, the Masters in Rome did not fit into the schedule. "Unfortunately, Rome didn't work because I would have had to play qualifying today," said Struff: "Now I'm going home, taking two days off, continuing to train and then probably playing in Bordeaux."
In Madrid, Struff only had to admit defeat to top star Carlos Alcaraz 4: 6, 6: 3, 3: 6 in the final and, thanks to his success in recent weeks, managed to jump to 28th place in the world rankings. "It was unbelievable that it would be such a journey," he said: "I hadn't thought about it before."
Even at the Masters in Monte Carlo, the long-standing German number two had already convinced with a place in the quarter-finals.
Struff in Roland Garros twice in the round of 16
