In the English part of the press conference, Novak Djokovic had already commented on the rumors of a possible return to the Players 'Council: It was not he who actively sought a return to the Players' Council, it was rather the colleagues who made him and Vasek Pospisil for it nominated. Due to a new regulation of the ATP, which prohibits participation in two different organizations, a return to the council will not work, at least for the time being.

An incomprehensible decision by the ATP, as Djokovic explained in Serbian in detail. "They sent a clear message about what they think about all of this. Again, the ATP spoke out against the wishes of a large group of players nominated by Vasek and me."

Djokovic also criticizes the media

"These are political games that take place behind the scenes and you can barely see that they are being written about. But it is important to write that Novak is a hypocrite," said the world number one, who did not let the media know. In particular, the reporting of the past few days pissed off the 33-year-old - it was wrongly reported in numerous media that he had reapplied for a place in the new council.

Djokovic doesn't want to give up because of that, he is used to it from the past. "That gives me even more motivation to do what is right for the sport and the players." The industry leader apparently wants to focus on players outside the top regions of the world rankings.

Djokovic is just beginning with the PTPA

"Over the years I have tried to be available and proactively contribute my ideas and suggestions. With the sole aim of making the tennis system a better place - especially for the worse-placed players. We have to take care of all the players who suffer a lot. They criticize the system all the time because they have a lot of problems, "said Djokovic.

Therefore, he tried to work with the ATP as one of the PTPA founders - but this was not wanted by the men's organization. "At least we now know where we stand in terms of ATP," said the 17-time Grand Slam winner, who still has some plans for the PTPA: "It's just the beginning. Of course, we have to see what our next one will do now." will be a strategic move. We will need a slightly different approach. " It will be interesting to see how it will look.
