US Open: Coco Gauff dominant, Ons Jabeur with premiere
Coco Gauff made it through to the round of 16 of the US Open 2022 with a convincing performance. Ons Jabeur is also there for the first time.

Ons Jabeur is in the round of 16 of the US Open for the first time. The 28-year-old Tunisian won a close third-round match on Friday against local hero Shelby Rogers 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. The number five on the seeding list has already achieved her 41st victory on the tour this season, only the world number one Iga Swiatek has even more with 52 successes.
In the past three years, Jabeur had failed in the third round in New York, now she has bigger plans for her run from Wimbledon. On the "sacred lawn" Jabeur was the first African to reach the final of a Grand Slam. Her next opponent is Weronika Kudermetova from Russia.
The French Open finalist Coco Gauff is also in the round of 16 - after a dominant performance against her compatriot Madison Keys. The 18-year-old prevailed 6: 2, 6: 3 in 72 minutes and now meets the Chinese Zhang Shuai.
