The eighth-final game on the Philipp-Chatrier Court went almost like clockwork for the world ranking second. Against number 78 in the ATP world rankings, a solid game by the Spaniard was enough to beat the 25-year-old Argentinian. In the three sets, Nadal only had the service game taken off once. In the first set Nadal took the service from his opponent twice, in the second round the favorite was a break to success. In the third set, the clay court king was quickly 4: 1 ahead before experiencing his first phase of weakness and Londero allowed the only break. But then the left-hander came back furious and won the set and the match after two games.
