Eva Lys just missed her fourth ITF Tour title: The German hope for the future only failed in the final of the ITF W100 indoor hard court event in Shrewsbury, UK, at the eighth-seeded Marketa Vondrousova 5: 7 and 2: 6. For the only 20-year-old, it was the first final in a tournament of the highest category in the "small women's circus".
On the way to the final, Lys defeated the British Emily Appleton, Jodie Anna Burrage and Yuriko Lily Miyazaki, as well as the Croatian Ana Konjuh in the semifinals. The German born in Kyiv only won a 60s event in Trnava, Slovakia, in mid-October. In the WTA rankings, Lys climbs three places to 123rd.
