"My last stand is that it will unfortunately be too early for him," said the two-time French Open winner Kevin Krawietz (Coburg) about his regular partner Andreas Mies (Cologne) at the ATP tournament in Munich. Mies, who had operated on the knee, had already declared in February that the Olympics would probably not work.
For the time being, it remains unclear who is playing doubles with whom for Germany in Tokyo. "There are many combinations," said Krawietz, "you have to see how you set up." In addition to him, Alexander Zverev (Hamburg), Jan-Lennard Struff (Warstein) and possibly Tim Pütz (Frankfurt / Main) would also be considered for a job.
In mixed, however, Zverev will certainly compete with Angelique Kerber. Zverev announced this at the ATP tournament in Munich .
