Berrettini had to play against Davidovich-Fokina at Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Roman made the best of it. After a bad start, Berrettini seemed to have brought the match under control by winning the third set, but the Spaniard didn't give up yet and managed to equalize the set. In the decision, Berrettini led with a break, then gave up his service - to get Davidovich-Fokina's serve again. To make matters worse, he fell shortly before the end of the match, which lasted 3:48 hours. Berrettini won 3: 6, 7: 6 (2), 6: 3, 3: 6 and 6: 2 and plays against Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals.

Ruud beats Berrettini in Gstaad final

The Norwegian opened the game against Corentin moutet at Arthur Ashe Stadium and didn't miss a beat in the first two sets with 6:1 and 6:2. Moutet then recovered and, somewhat surprisingly, managed to get the tie-break 7:4. In the fourth set, however, Ruud showed who was the boss on the court. And made it into the quarterfinals with a 6:2 score.

Berrettini and Ruud have played each other five times, with the Norwegian leading the record with 3-2 wins. The two last met in the final in Gstaad, where Casper Ruud won in three sets.
