US Open: Karen Khachanov takes out Nick Kyrgios!
Karen Khachanov has surprisingly reached the semifinals of the US Open 2022. He beat Nick Kyrgios in five sets.

In the end, Khachanov won 7: 5, 4: 6, 7: 5, 6: 7 (3) and 6: 4 and is thus in his first semi-final in a major tournament. He meets Casper Ruud there.
Kyrgios had entered the match as a favorite after disenchanting Daniil Medvedev in the round of 16. Against Khachanov, however, he was a little short of that level - while the man from Russia played big.
And he didn't show any nerves at the end either: Kyrgios had thrown everything in there again, but Khachanov served confidently.
Bitter for the Australian: The decisive break in the fifth set came when he started a rather unnecessary Fontal tweener right at the beginning.
