The 22-year-old from Russia won the final over Belinda Bencic 1: 6, 6: 1 and 6: 3 and thus won her first WTA title.
Samsonova first had to qualify in Berlin and then defeated Madison Keys and Victoria Azarenka, among others - and in the final now Bencic, who was twelfth in the world.
Samsonova is already the tenth premiere winner at WTA level this year. And after Ons Jabeur even the second today.
Samsonova will crack the top 100 for the first time in her career and will be in 63rd place in the WTA ranking on Monday.
