After Perth's hate sermon: To hell with Margaret Court
Margaret Court has not only finally destroyed her sports memorial. After her devilish hate sermon from Perth, the Margaret Court Arena at the Australian Open is no longer allowed.

The devil is definitely in the game. Whoever spreads as much hate as Margaret Court simply has to be in league with Lucifer. Court sees the horse's foot on the other side. "The devil has gone into the media, politicians, educators and television," she thundered from the pulpit of the evangelical community in Perth: "Children decide when they are seven or eight years old to change their sexuality - read the first two chapters the story of creation, that's all I say. "
Margaret Court was once Australia's tennis icon. She won 24 Grand Slam titles between 1960 and 1973, making her top of the list to this day. In her homeland, Court was as famous as Steffi Graf in Germany. She was an idol for many generations of children playing tennis, she was showered with honors and awards, one of the show courts at the Australian Open in Melbourne bears her name.
Navratilova - "Court is a homophobic racist"
This should be changed as soon as possible, this requirement is not new. Martina Navratilova in particular, whose outing dates back 40 years, has repeatedly campaigned for the name to be changed to "Evonne Goolagong Arena". "We now all know who Margaret Court is," wrote Navratilova in an open letter: "A once outstanding tennis player and a homophobic racist." Melbourne's tournament director Craig Tiley has preferred to remain undercover. The naming of the arena is only due to Courts sporting merits.
But this argument is far too weak. With her hate speech against the LGBT movement (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender), the 77-year-old has repeatedly exceeded the limits of social interaction. Court in Perth said that she was certain that LGBT had long wanted to never have added the T for transgender people: "Especially in women's sports, they will still have a lot of problems with it. Only God made us the way we should be."
She showed 20 years ago that today's pastor Margaret Court never kept pace with the development of society. Lesbians would ruin tennis, she said at the time, that they were a bad role model for young people. Navratilova countered at the time: "Many people have developed, the Bible has it too. Unfortunately Margaret Court did not."
John McEnroe speaks of the deepest Middle Ages
In 2012 Court had her next public appearance. In the debate about the admission of same-sex marriage in Australia, she said that one should "not legitimize what God calls disgusting sexual practices". She is opposed to allowing "alternative, unhealthy and unnatural connections" to the marriage law. Fortunately, she was not heard with her poisoned slogans.
Two years ago, Court followed up on a Christian radio show: "Tennis is full of lesbians. We are here to help them. We are not against these people." Even then, she called transgender children the "work of the devil". The three-time Wimbledon winner John McEnroe then accused Court of wanting to "take us into the deepest Middle Ages".
This does not challenge her, in a conversation with the Australian newspaper The Age, Court recently announced her visit to the Australian Open in January, where some celebrations were actually planned to mark the 50th anniversary of her first Grand Slam. Her compatriot Todd Woodbridge, once the most successful double player in the world, vehemently goes against it: "You must not be allowed to abuse the stage in Melbourne for her confused theses."
