"I did an MRI a week ago. The ligaments have healed completely," he told Sport Bild on Wednesday.
"I still have a little fluid in it, which can cause pain, but my foot is generally healthy," said the 25-year-old: "It still feels uncomfortable with some things, but I'll manage until it starts ."
Davis Cup: Germany starts on September 14th
Germany will play France (September 14), Belgium (September 16) and Australia (September 18) in the intermediate round tournament in Hamburg. Zverev hopes at Rothenbaum "that it will be loud, that we will get a football atmosphere like in St. Pauli in the stadium. The stadium can be very loud when the roof is closed, we need that."
Zverev assesses the chances of progressing as "quite good": "We don't have to talk about Australia, luckily we have them last. Everyone should beat Belgium, I would have liked to have had them at the beginning. (...) We have against France also an opportunity."
Zverev suffered his injury in early May, in the semi-finals of the French Open he twisted his ankle in a match against Rafael Nadal (Spain). He then missed Wimbledon and the US Open, which run until next weekend.
