"The good news is that I can train again. My doctor gave me the green light because the swelling has decreased. Nevertheless, my team and I decided that the Australian Open was coming too early," Petkovic said in a video on Instagram With. "My muscles have decreased a bit, so I take the time to get back in shape."
Petko plans to make a comeback in the Fed Cup away game against Brazil in early February, "should I be nominated. Apart from that, I'm targeting Doha and Dubai."
Petkovic had to give up after the first set of their last season at the WTA tournament in Luxembourg against Antonia Lottner. The left knee pinched even then, but after a four-week break she was free of pain again. At the beginning of the season, swelling returned, which now forces the six-time WTA title holder to take a break.
