The ovations and farewell greetings from colleagues on the WTA tour were numerous and sincere. And HEAD, Ashleigh Barty 's longtime racket supplier, has nothing but praise for the Australian.

Barty surprisingly declared her career over a few days ago in a TV interview with her former doubles partner Casey Dellacqua. A few weeks after becoming the first Australian to win the Australian Open in Melbourne in 44 years. It was the third, and as we now know, the last major triumph for Barty, who had previously remained successful in Roland Garros in 2019 and in Wimbledon last year. She has achieved all her great successes with racquets from the Austrian company HEAD.
"We are very sad to lose Ash," said Thomas Bischof, Director of Pro Players and Product Test Management at HEAD, in a press release. "We fully respect her decision and wish Ash every happiness in the future. But we will miss her.”
"We will miss her beautiful backhand," Bischof continued. “We will miss their competitive strength. And proof that you don't have to be six feet tall to be the best in today's tennis world. But most of all she will be missed as a wonderful person, especially the example of dignity she set in both winning and losing.”
Barty will always be a role model. Especially for girls, Bishop concluded.
