Alexei Popyrin grabbed the chance in Singapore: The 21-year-old Australian won the first title of his career with a 4: 6, 6: 0 and 6: 2 against Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan. For Bublik, on the other hand, it was the second final defeat in 2021: at the beginning of the year he had to give up after a few minutes injured in the final against Alex de Minaur in Antalya.
Popyrin, who defeated Marin Cilic in the semifinals, will reach a new career high with Singapore's 250 points: He will be ranked 82nd in the world from Monday. For Bublik, on the other hand, it will be stressful: He has to travel directly to Rotterdam, where he will meet Alexander Zverev in round one.
