Prestige success for Yannick Hanfmann ! The German celebrated a three-set win against Dominic Thiem in the round of 16 of the ATP 250 tournament in Antwerp. Hanfmann defeated the 2020 US Open winner late on Thursday evening in a thrilling game 6:4, 5:7 and 6:4.

In the first round, a break was enough for Hanfmann to make it 3-2, which he was able to win the set despite some problems with his own serve. In the second section it was Thiem who made the decisive break at 6:5 and thus forced a deciding set.

After two breaks at the beginning of the third set, it was Hanfmann who took serve from his opponent in the seventh game and thus ensured a preliminary decision. The world number 56. Afterwards, he didn't let anything go wrong and secured the 6:4, 5:7 and 6:4 success.
