Nothing will happen this year with John Isner's seventh success at the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Atlanta. Because the defending champion had to admit defeat to his compatriot Jenson Brooksby 6: 3, 1: 6 and 4: 6 in Atlanta on Friday (local time). A much-needed sporting sign of life for Brooksby: After the 21-year-old had pushed his way to the top of the world fairly briskly last year, the 2022 season was rather modest. Best result for Brooksby was reaching the Dallas final, where he lost to Reilly Opelka.

In Atlanta, Jenson Brooksby has to deal with compatriot Frances Tiafoe in the semi-finals, who had no problems with Brandon Nakashima at 6: 4 and 6: 2 in just 64 minutes.
In the top half, Ilya Ivashka and Alex de Minaur were able to secure their place in the semifinals. Ivashka beat local hero Tommy Paul 6-2, 3-6 and 6-1. DeMinaur, who won in Atlanta 2019, also prevailed against Adrian Mannarino in three sets.

In doubles, the semifinals will see a hit match between the Australian Open champions Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios against the two Americans Rajeev Ram and Jack Sock.
