The second in the world rankings beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 7: 6 (5), 6: 4 and is now waiting for the winner of the game between Francisco Cerundolo and Dan Evans.

Alcaraz needed just over two hours for his success and can boast an annual record of 21 wins and only 2 defeats. The Spaniard had missed the start of the year injured, as well as the Masters tournament in Monte Carlo.

Neither of them delivered a brilliant game, and Alcaraz also ended up making 41 mistakes without needing to.

The point of the day, after all, was "ADF" with a volley stop with so much backspin that he jumped back to his own side.

Jannik Sinner cancels due to illness

Previously, Stefanos Tsitsipas had reached the round of four: he beat Alex de Minaur 6-4, 6-2. However, there is no semi-final against Jannik Sinner: he had to cancel his quarter-final against compatriot Lorenzo Musetti due to illness.
