A crazy tennis week came to an end at the ATP World Tour 500 tournament in Barcelona - and that with the victory of a local hero: Carlos Alcaraz won the final of two Spaniards in the Catalan capital after just 67 minutes of play 6: 3, 6 :2. As was the case on Friday with the round of 16 and quarter-finals, tedious double shifts had to be resorted to on Sunday due to the bad weather.

From Monday 9th place in the world rankings

Alcaraz spent a total of 3:40 hours on Center Court Rafa Nadal in the semi-final duel against Australian Alex de Minaur - only a few minutes of this were played yesterday until the 2-2 in the opening set before it finally had to be stopped. Carreno Busta, who in turn spent almost six hours in the match on Friday, had far fewer problems with Diego Schwartzman at 6: 3, 6: 4 in his semifinals.

For Alcaraz it is his fourth career title so far, the third alone in the current season - in February the 18-year-old also won a 500 event in Rio de Janeiro, followed by the triumph at the ATP Masters 1000 event in early April Miami. In tomorrow's world rankings, the young man from Murcia will be ranked ninth.
