Madrid finalist Jan-Lennard Struff is baking smaller rolls this week on the ATP Challenger Tour, but if you win a tournament in the heavily occupied clay court event in the 175 category in Bordeaux, there would still be a handsome point salary on the Warsteiner's world rankings account enter. Struff took the first step towards this on Wednesday.
After a bye in round one, the German clearly prevailed 6:3, 6:3 against Frenchman Kyrian Jacquet in the round of 16. Struff, seeded in France, could meet Austrian Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals, who, however, has an unpleasant task ahead of him with local hero Corentin Moutet.
