Second game, second win: Andy Murray has no complaints about the start of this year's grass season. After a 7: 6 (4) and 7: 6 (3) win over Dutch qualifier Gijs Brouwer, the three-time Grand Slam winner is in the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger event in Surbiton.
However, Murray, who had skipped the current French Open for Wimbledon preparation reasons, had to fight hard against Brouwer before the two-set win was certain. In the second round, the top seeded Briton was even confronted with a 2:4 deficit.
In the quarter-finals, Murray, who had only allowed Austria's Jurij Rodionov to win three games at the start , has to deal with Brandon Nakashima. In the coming week, the former world number one will start at the ATP 250 tournament in Stuttgart.
