Dominic Thiem is still trying to collect as many points as possible at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid. Round one is in the Caja Magica for Thiem against the British Kyle Edmund, and Stefanos Tsitsipas is waiting for the winner of this game. From May 8th, Thiem will then serve in Mauthausen at the Challenger tournament there. Thiem leads the official entry list ahead of Frenchman Hugo Gaston and Argentinean Facundo Bagnis.

From an Austrian point of view, the presence is enormous: Sebastian Ofner has named as well as Filip Misolic, Dennis Novak, who was injured in the last few weeks, would also like to try Mauthausen. Not to forget Maximilian Neuchrist, who recently showed strong performances in South America.

Riedi and Pouille come

By the way, Jurij Rodionov is not (yet) there. The left-hander was able to win the title in Mauthausen last year, very emotionally on Mother's Day.

From an international point of view, two players are particularly interesting: First of all, there is the young Swiss Leandro Riedi, who will probably knock on the top 100 soon. Riedi was most recently part of the Swiss team that defeated Germany 3-2 in Trier, but was not used himself. Lucas Pouille, on the other hand, is coming to Upper Austria as a former Davis Cup champion. The Frenchman has been in the top ten before - after lengthy injury breaks he is desperately trying to catch up with the extended world elite.
