ATP Cordoba: Sebastian Baez wins - and finally ends the negative series

Sebastian Baez won the title at the ATP 250 event in the final match against Federico Coria . Most recently, the Argentine went through poor months.

Sebastian Baez and the clay court: It's a really big love story after all. The Argentinian, most recently with 17 defeats in 18 matches, returns to his favorite underground in Cordoba - and immediately wins the title. On the night of Monday (CET), the world number 36 defeated. compatriot Federico Coria and clinched career title number two.

Baez got off to a strong start and won the opening set 6-1. Coria countered and equalized with a 6:3 in section two. Ultimately, however, Sebastian Baez had the better end for himself: The 22-year-old secured the home win in Cordoba with another 6:3.

Baez without a break

But Sebastian Baez doesn't have much time to celebrate: The Argentine is already on his way to Buenos Aires, where the next ATP 250 event is on the program. Dominic Thiem, Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie are also at the start in the agentine capital.

Spicy detail: Sebastian Baez has to serve in Buenos Aires tonight (local time): In pair skating alongside Facundo Bagnis, he is going against the Argentinian-Austrian duo Dominic Thiem and Diego Schwartzman. In singles, Baez meets Dusan Lajovic in Buenos Aires.
