Daniil Medvedev clearly enjoyed his kart training with compatriot Daniil Kvyat

The disappointment after the final at the Australian Open was understandably deep for Daniil Medvedev. Not only was the epic final battle against Rafael Nadal lost by a narrow margin, the second in the world rankings also struggled with the borderline behavior of the Australian spectators. Fairness looks different for most sports men and women.

In the press conference that followed , the Russian - albeit in a very civilized manner - let his frustration run free and toyed with the idea of retiring before he was 30. In the memorable question and answer session, however, the Muscovite still failed to decide which occupation he wanted to indulge in after the professional handling of the yellow felt ball.

"Formula 1 training has officially started"

On Twitter, the 25-year-old has now posted impressions of a kart training session with ex-Formula 1 driver Daniil Kvyat (Russia) and Briton Alexander Albon, who will be working for Williams in the premier class of motorsport in the 2022 season - accompanied by the words: "No more tennis! My training for Formula 1 has officially started". Medvedev not only received excellent advice from the two professionals, but was also given a specially made racing outfit.

While you don't have to worry, despite all the fun, that Medvedev will swap his tennis racket for a racing car cockpit in the near future, the high-speed act commanded the fullest respect from last year's US Open champion: "In all seriousness , respect for all the boys, that was tough today."
