Daniil Medvedev won the title in Doha

Andy Murray delivered four big fights during the tournament week in Doha. And won. But for Daniil Medvedev it was over on the final Saturday. Because the Russian, who won his 16th career title in the final against Jannik Sinner in Rotterdam last Sunday, now also struck in Doha. And won against Murray 6: 4 and 6: 4.

Medvedev didn't have it as easy as the result would suggest. Although he led in both sets with an early break, Murray came back in both sets. Annoying from the Scot's point of view: With the score at 4: 4 in the second act, Murray gambled away a 40: 0 lead and allowed the ultimately decisive loss of serve.

With his first match point after a playing time of 1:47 hours, Medvedev made a double mistake. The US Open champion of 2021 used the second opportunity with a fine praise.
