Novak Djokovic has played in two tournaments this year (Adelaide 1 and the Australian Open), both of which the industry leader won. Now there should be the third coup in Dubai. Djokovic leads the tableau in the traditional ATP Tour 500 tournament - and starts against a qualifier or a lucky loser.
The task for Alexander Zverev is more demanding. The German number one, seeded seventh in Dubai, opens against Jiri Lehecka. Zverev lost his first match after the long injury break against the young Czech at the United Cup at the beginning of the season.
It will also be exciting for Andy Murray, who can play the final in Doha against Daniil Medvedev this Saturday. Murray was drawn against Hubert Hurkacz. Medvedev is also part of the game in Dubai and, like Djokovic, starts against a qualifier or lucky loser.
This is how the quarter-finals in Dubai look like according to the seeding list:
Novak Djokovic (SRB/1) | Hubert Hurkacz (POL/5) |
Daniil Medvedev (RUS/3) | Borna Coric (CRO/8) |
Felix Auger-Aliassime (CAN/4) | Alexander Zverev (GER/7) |
Andrey Rublev (RUS/2) | Karen Khachanov (RUS/6) |
