The chance to defend the title is getting closer and closer. Carlos Alcaraz also impressed in the third round and is now among the last eight players of the Masters. Alcaraz had few problems against Fabian Marozsan and secured victory in just over an hour with 6:3 and 6:3.
At first the young Spaniard needed some time to find his way into the match. Alcaraz used his fifth break point of the match at 3:3 and clearly dominated the game from then on. With a total of 34 points won, “Carlitos” won the first set 6:3.
Marozsan was not discouraged by the quick end of the first set and continued to serve until the score was 3-2. But the 20-year-old Alcaraz couldn't miss his place in the quarter-finals. He broke the Italian to make it 4:2 and was able to convert his first match point at 5:3 and on his own serve. Next, “Carlitos” will face Zverev or de Minaur, who will serve immediately afterwards.
