Grigor Dimitrov (ATP No. 35) has made good use of the Djokovic gap in Indian Wells so far. Taylor Fritz struggled a lot that night.

After Novak Djokovic's cancellation, Dimitrov slipped to his position at the bottom of the draw - and has so far been unharmed there. The Bulgarian won his third round match against Alexander Bublik comfortably 6:3, 6:4. He meets John Isner, who won 7:5, 6:3 against Diego Schwartzman.

Dimitrov, last year in the semi-finals, was strong, only made nine mistakes without needing it, and he didn't allow a break chance against himself at all.

Rafael Nadal back at the start today

Hubert Hurkacz is also through after a 7: 6 (7), 6: 3 against Steve Johnson, now it's up to Andrey Rublev, who beat Frances Tiafoe 6: 3, 6: 4. Rublev, currently ranked No. 7 in the world, is the highest-ranked player in the bottom half of the draw.

Taylor Fritz had to fight hard, 6:4, 2:6, 7:6 (2) against Jaume Munar; Fritz now meets Alex de Minaur, who took Zverev conqueror Tommy Paul out of the tournament (7: 6 (2), 6: 4).

Matteo Berrettini had already made it into the round of 16.

At the start today are Rafael Nadal (against Reilly Opelka) and Jannik Sinner (against Nick Kyrgios).
