ATP Indian Wells: Koepfer beats Paire, follows Otte in round two
Dominik Koepfer made it into the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells with a comeback win against Benoit Paire. Oscar Otte had done that before him.

Dominik Koepfer followed Oscar Otte (Cologne) into the second round at the ATP Masters in Indian Wells. The man from Furtwangen won against Benoit Paire from France 2:6, 7:5, 6:4 and in the second round meets the number seven seeded Russian Andrey Rublev.
On the other hand, Jan-Lennard Struff (Warstein) and Daniel Altmaier (Kempen) failed in the first round. Struff lost to Australian John Millman 6: 7 (6: 8), 4: 6, Altmaier lost to Steve Johnson (USA) 3: 6, 6: 7 (3: 7).
Otte had previously defeated Frenchman Richard Gasquet 6:2, 1:6, 6:3 in his opening match and is now up against Hubert Hurkacz from Poland, who was eleventh seeded. In addition to Otte and Koepfer, Olympic champion Alexander Zverev (Hamburg / No. 3) is already in the second round after a bye.
