Kevin Krawietz is aiming for further success at the major events with his new doubles partner Tim Pütz. "I think we can win Grand Slams, of course," said the 30-year-old from Coburg at a press conference by the Bavarian Tennis Association on Tuesday: "Basically, I definitely believe that we can become one of the best teams."
The previous successful double Krawietz and Andreas Mies announced the separation on Sunday. In 2019 and 2020 both won the French Open together. "It has been a long process and a long consideration. The decision was extremely difficult." However, he got the feeling that he needed a new impetus, said Krawietz. The Cologne Mies (32) will compete with the Australian John Peers in the future.
With the 34-year-old Frankfurter Pütz, Krawietz has already proven in the Davis Cup that they can be successful. They will again serve side by side in the team competition quarter-finals against Canada on November 24.
