The 40th attack on the net brought Tommy Paul the 5: 5 in the third set of the second round match against Alexander Zverev at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. Remarkable, because the American actually prefers to act from the baseline. Even more remarkable that at this point in time the game was still being played: Zverev came back strongly after losing the first set and already led 4: 2 in the decisive round. But then Zverev made a service game with four (!) Double errors.

In the tie-break, Zverev was quickly 0: 3 behind, Paul continued to act extremely aggressively, at 1: 5 from Zverev's point of view the sides were changed. The native of Hamburg could not recover from this.

In the end Paulmit 6:2, 4:6 and 7:6 (2) prevailed. With Zverev, the last remaining German in the tableau failed: Earlier on Sunday in Indian Wells Oscar Otte lost against Hubert Hurkacz and Dominik Koepfer against Andrey Rublev despite strong performances. Paul's next opponent will be Australian Alex de Minaur. He won against his compatriot John Millman 7:6 (4) and 6:3.
