Especially in the second set, Carlos Alcaraz initially swept over his opponent Thiago Seyboth Wild like a force of nature: Last year's Wimbledon champion beat the Brazilian 6:3, 6:3 in the third round of the combined event in Madrid after just 76 minutes of play and is now easily in the round of 16. The number two in the tournament will face the German Jan-Lennard Struff, who defeated the Frenchman Ugo Humbert in two sets.
At the beginning, the South American was able to keep up with the Spanish whirlwind, and a decisive break to 4:3 paved the way for the set win. In the second set, Alcaraz roared away from his opponent with the turbo on, before the 20-year-old's gears started to falter towards the end of the match.

Alcaraz was already leading 5-0 and could have actually given Seyboth Wild the maximum penalty. However, the temporary moustache wearer managed to win a service game in the second set and was then able to break the top favorite's serve at 30. Seyboth Wild even increased the lead to 3-5 before Alcaraz was finally able to serve out.
Here is the individual table in Madrid.
