After Novak Djokovic and Andrey Rublev, Dusan Lajovic has now also won a remarkable victory against Félix Auger-Aliassime and thus made a duel with Jan-Lennard Struff clear in the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid. Lajovic won 6:2, 3:6 and 7:6 (5) against the Canadian, who was seventh. Struff also threw a seed out of the grid, namely Ben Shelton, number 32 - and that with 4: 6, 7: 6 (4) and 7: 5.

Basically, it wasn't a nice afternoon for the favorite players. With exceptions: Daniil Medvedev, the number two in Madrid, didn't let anything burn in the 6: 4 and 6: 3 against Andrea Vavassori. And Frances Tiafoe (number nine) prevailed against the dangerous Argentinian Tomas Etcheverry 6:3 and 7:6 (5). And Taylor Fritz (8) also won his encounter with Christopher O'Connell with 7:6 (11) and 6:4.

On the other hand, it caught Daniel Evans (19), who lost to Bernabe Zapata Miralles 3: 6 and 2: 6. Jiri Lehecka (31) lost 6-1 and 6-1 against Alexander Shevchenko. Tommy Paul also had little to gain in the 3: 6 and 6: 7 (3) against Roman Safiullin.
