Jannik Sinner has been struggling with a real bad luck streak in the last few weeks. Which shouldn't tear down at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami either.

Jannik Sinner is struggling with a turbulent season in 2022

Actually, it had looked almost excellent for Jannik Sinner at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Miami: after the success over Nick Kyrgios (who has appeared in a very good mood in the past few weeks) - admittedly not without the help of his opponent - opened in the Italian's half a pretty good opportunity for a wide push in the second part of the Sunshine Double.

A few hours later - in the quarter-final duel with surprise man Francisco Cerundolo - the young Italian's run came to an abrupt end. After just five games, Sinner left Hard Rock Stadium in Miami with his head down, the Italian had to take a shower early due to blisters. "I had blisters and couldn't move," explained Sinner after the match. "I felt it yesterday, in the last game against Nick. Today I wanted to go out there and try it, but it didn't work."

Sinner with tough weeks

This is another chapter of turbulent weeks for the world number eleven, who had to take an unintentionally long break after the Australian Open due to a COVID-19 infection. And now? Sinner already had to give up without a fight at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells, in California the South Tyrolean was unable to compete against Nick Kyrgios in the round of 16 due to injury.

Now the Sunshine Double in the USA is undoubtedly ending with another bitter disappointment for Sinner. The 20-year-old has little to blame in terms of play, it is rather a persistent streak of bad luck that has followed the youngster since the Australian Open. There is a new opportunity for great success for Sinner in the European clay court season that is about to start - specifically in Monte Carlo. There, where the Italian hardly has any points to defend after the second round last year. And so that the mission of returning to the top ten in the world rankings soon will be tackled.

Here's Miami's draw!
