Alexander Zverev was eliminated from the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo. The German number one was defeated by David Goffin in the round of 16 with 4: 6 and 6: 7 (6).

Alexander Zverev will not win at home in Monte Carlo, at least not this year. The German, who lives in the Principality, initially fended off four match points from David Goffin in the tie-break of the second set, but finally lost the game 4: 6 and 6: 7 (7).

Zverev defeated Lorenzo Sonego with a strong performance on Wednesday, and the fourth game against Goffin was at eye level. In the end, the native of Hamburg even scored one point more than Goffin (77:76).
