Actually, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev get along quite well with each other on and off the court. That might have changed a bit on Thursday night. Because after the dramatic 3: 6, 7: 5, 7: 6 (7) for the Russian in the round of 16 of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo, Zverev did not spare criticism of his Russian opponent.

"It's so bitter for me that he's an excellent tennis player, one of the best in the world. But he's one of the most unfair players we have in the world. He tries to do everything when he's behind. I'm over that just extremely disappointed as an athlete," Zverev explained to Sky immediately after the end of the match.
Zverev almost classically correct
Zverev's frustration ran deep - after all, he had twice the chance to end the match with his own serve. "He goes to the toilet at 4: 3, although there is no toilet break. There are thousands of situations in which I started playing better and where he tries to do something every time," said Zverev.
It is well known that some players try to stretch the set of rules very far in their favor. Stefanos Tsitsipas' miserably long toilet breaks, for example, persuaded the ATP to change something in the regulations. Alexander Zverev, however, is one of those professionals who behave in an almost classically correct manner on the court: The German number one almost never grabs the towel, never leaves the court during a match, and does not take a small break on the bench even when changing sides in the tie-break to have a drink.
Daniil Medvedev can continue against Holger Rune in Monte Carlo today, Alexander Zverev comes to Munich to relieve frustration.
