Davis Cup player Jan-Lennard Struff missed the last sixteen at the ATP Masters in Paris. The 30-year-old Warsteiner lost in the second round against Pablo Carreno Busta (No. 9) 6: 7 (3), 2: 6.
The Spaniard thus kept his chance to participate in the ATP Finals in London. For that, Carreno Busta would need a tournament victory in Paris and an end for Diego Schwartzman before the final. In the next round, the Iberian meets Norbert Gombos, who surprisingly eliminated David Goffin in two sets.
The fourth-placed German top player Alexander Zverev (Hamburg) will meet the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic on Wednesday after a bye in the first round in his opening match.
