Carlos Alcaraz wants to prepare for the French Open at home

It was probably the biggest surprise of the current tennis season: Carlos Alcaraz, who dominated the clay court events in Barcelona and Madrid, failed in the third round of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome at the Hungarian qualifier Fabian Marozsan in two sets with 3:6, 6:7 (4).

The reasons for the defeat were quickly found in the Spaniard's press conference after the collapse game: "I was very surprised. His level was very high, I'm sure he'll be in the top 100 soon. I I was in top physical shape, I just didn't feel comfortable on the pitch."

"I'll take a few days off"

It was difficult for the 20-year-old to get into the game: "He was aggressive the whole time and played inside the court all the time. I made a lot of mistakes that don't usually happen to me. Something like that can happen in tennis, you have to deal with it . In any case, I tried to fight until the last ball, but it wasn't enough."

However, the man from the Murcia region already knows how to use the time that has been freed up: "Now I'll rest a little, take a few days off. Of course I'll also train to be ready for Roland Garros." In the course of the tournaments, it is always difficult to train for several days in a row: "It will help me to prepare for a few days at home."
