ATP Masters Rome: Nothing works today!

The announced rain repeatedly interrupted the game operations this Saturday. Shortly after 9 p.m., those responsible announced that the game day would be canceled.

Carlos Alcaraz, Andrey Rublev or Borna Coric have it good: the game plan has provided early starts for these three (and a few other lucky ones). And even if the rain didn't allow for non-stop play, Alcaraz was at least able to secure number one after the tournament in Rome.

But otherwise?

It was unlikely that Alexander Zverev would have to do it today anyway. Zverev's match against David Goffin was scheduled on the Pietrangeli after Daniil Medvedev, who hadn't even started against Emil Ruusuvuori.

Double shifts for Federer, Djokovic and Co. 2019

Stefanos Tsitsipas seems to be on the road to victory: The Greek, who failed in Foo Italico last year due to Novak Djokovic, won the first set 6: 3 against Nuno Borges and leads in the second 4: 3. Frances Tiafoe has to make up a set deficit against Daniel Altmaier. The second set was stopped at 4:3. Jiri Lehecka and Fabian Maroszan also have work to do. The two are in the third set.

From this point of view, the extension of the tournament to twelve days may have brought something. Because in 2019, some players such as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer had to play two games with a few minutes difference due to a completely rainy day.
