Unfortunately, the long wait didn't help in the end: At 9:45 p.m., those responsible for the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome decided to cancel all ongoing games due to rain and to postpone them to Tuesday. The rain, which was getting heavier and heavier, started shortly after 8:00 p.m. and from that point on no more playing was possible.

The first victim was Alexander Zverev, who won the first set 6: 4 in his third round game against the American JJ Wolf. In the second round, the German was already leading by a break, but the game was finally stopped at 3:3 in the second.
But Stefanos Tsitsipas was not allowed to finish his night session game against Lorenzo Sonego either.
