Hubert Hurkacz is still not naked at the ATP Tour 250 tournament in Metz. The Pole, who had hardly any problems in his first appearance after a bye in round one against Dominic Thiem, won 6: 3 and 6: 2 against Arthur Rinderknech on Friday. In the semi-finals on Saturday, Hurkacz meets Lorenzo Sonego, who was able to beat Sebastian Korda 6: 4 and 6: 4.

Stan Wawrinka surprisingly defeated Daniil Medvedev in three sets in the round of 16 on Thursday, and the Swiss also had to go the full distance against Mikael Ymer. Wawrinka was clearly the better player at the beginning, Ymer was more concerned with the balls, which he couldn't handle despite two wins in the past few days.

After that, the Swede got into the match better and equalized the set after several chances. In the decision, Wawrinka presented an early break and seemed to be on the road to victory. But Ymer equalized to 4:4. There were no further break chances until the tie-break.

In the short decision, Wawrinka acted unusually offensively and appeared on the net at every opportunity. But Ymer made a comeback again, bouncing back from 5-2 down. After a playing time of 2:49 hours, it was the experienced Swiss who converted his first match ball to 6:4, 4:6 and 7:6 (5).

In the semifinals, it's now up against the winner of the match between Holger Rune and Alexander Bublik, who played the last match of the day in Metz.
