Who will play in the Miami Open 2021?
The field at the first Masters tournament of the new season is strong despite many cancellations: Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Andrey Rublev are the top seeders, they are the most exciting youngsters of the year: Medvedev was in the final of the Australian Open and won last in Marseille, Tsitsipas was in the final of Acapulco, where he was defeated by Zverev. And Rublev: Has been the man of the 500 tournament lately. Can he now also boast at a 1000 event?

Who canceled?
Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, Roger Federer, Stan Wawrinka - unfortunately they are not part of the Miami Open 2021. Injury problems, corona caution, build-up training, these are the reasons. Dominic Thiem is healthy, but had already stated in his desert tournaments that he was not in top form - he currently wants to get in shape for the clay court tour . Nadal, however, continues to suffer from back problems that had already affected him in Australia. And defending champion Roger Federer wants to pursue another development program after his short comeback in Doha.
