Before it goes to European sand, there is still a hard court classic in Miami. And for some players, the prospects are somewhat unclear.

Carlos Alcaraz comes to Miami from Indian Wells as the newly crowned champion, and Daniil Medvedev is also in good form despite the end of his winning streak after 19 matches in a row. For some others, however, there are question marks...
The co-favourites: Stefanos Tsitsipas is not quite fit and seems to be thinking about the European clay court tournaments. The draw for the Greek isn't unfriendly with Richard Gasquet or a qualifier though. Casper Ruud has a final to defend in Miami. Apart from the good mood that the Norwegian exudes as a character, there is little to suggest that Ruud could do the same. Ruud could meet Alexander Zverev in the round of 16. Andrey Rublev is also struggling at the moment. Although he still reached the final in Dubai. Let's see how the interim trip to Mexico with Daniil Medvedev has affected our form and mood.
The comebackers: Can Dominic Thiem still be included? Well. The return to Marbella was less than a year ago. On the other hand, Florida hasn't really suited the Austrian yet. Lorenzo Sonego at the start is not a treat either. In complete contrast to Alexander Zverev, who in 2018 at the last event in Key Biscayne only failed in the final against John Isner. After the performances in Indian Wells, Zverev can look optimistically to Miami. Does that also apply to Gael Monfils? After his injury break, he lost to Jordan Thompson at Tennis Paradise and then to Alexander Shevchenko at the Challenger in Phoenix. In Miami, Monfils starts against his compatriot Ugo Humbert. Also a comeback.
The youngsters: Ben Shelton gave a talent test against Taylor Fritz in Indian Wells, but it was only a sentence and a half long. In new clothes, Shelton starts in miami with a bye. Jiri Lehecka has been caught again, having lost in Phoenix in round one to Thanasi Kokkinakis. In Miami it's Federico Coria. And Holger Rune had the worse end again against Stan Wawrinka a few days ago. He will avoid that in Florida. Potentially, Rune could also meet Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals.
