Tennis professional Oscar Otte missed the first final of his career at the ATP tournament in Munich. In the semifinals, the 28-year-old from Cologne lost 4: 6, 4: 6 to Danish high-flyer Holger Rune, who had previously knocked out Alexander Zverev in the round of 16. In the first set, Otte missed a 4-1 lead. After the match, Otte complained about stomach problems. Winner Rune, who eliminated Alexander Zverev in the round of 16, was of course satisfied with the afternoon.

Rune had already made a lot of plans during the week in Munich: namely by not being nominated for the qualification at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid. That has now been rewarded.

On the final Sunday, Kevin Krawietz/Andreas Mies will first play for the title in doubles (11.00 a.m./ran.de). Rune and his final opponent Botic van de Zandschulp (Netherlands), who defeated Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia) after almost three hours of play 2:6, 7:6 (7:4), 6:4, are each playing for their first Title on the ATP Tour. Should Holger Rune actually win his first championship, the teenager will have a (luxury) problem: Rune does not yet have a driver's license that would allow him to drive the winning car from Center Court at the MTTC Iphitos.
